We had a private room reserved at the Hope Club for our rehearsal dinner in June 2024, and a series of events led us to find a new venue one week before the wedding. Everything with the reservation went smoothly, until Prana reached out 2 weeks prior to the wedding to let us know the menu had changed and we needed to change all of our pre-selected food choices. There were a few factors that led us to cancel our reservation:
1. The menu was MUCH more casual than the original menu. As an example, some of the new entree options included burger and fries, steak frites, and lobster rolls, versus our original selections of shrimp and scallops, veal rib chop, and spring lamb.
2. I have celiac disease, and we were reassured from the beginning that this would be no problem to accommodate. The new menu had several items marked as gluten free that when I inquired, weren't in fact gluten free. The menu showed a couscous dish and a dish with french fries as gluten free, even though couscous is not gluten free and there is no designated fryer. I tried calling Prana to talk through my concerns, and she emailed me to set up a time to talk. I never heard from her at the time we picked.
3. The poor communication about both of the above led us to scramble to find a new venue. We received a nice apology email from Prana after the fact, but if you're looking to host a private event at the Hope Club, I'd look elsewhere. There are plenty of other places with better customer service.
