I agree with the issues everyone else addresses. The so-called president and commissioner of this league are rude and disrespectful. They do not know how to have a kind conversation. I will be demanding my money back after they called me and yelled at me over something I didn’t know I did wrong. My son is 5 and they flipped out over something so minor. I am floored with how terribly run this league is.

Both of our kids (10 and 5) have played here for years and I've coached both teams. We've fought through the flooding, the atrocious parking/traffic situation, the City's mis-management of the fields, but we will no longer stand for the LHSA's leadership or lack thereof. On Nov. 4, 2023, myself and another coach were approached during a game by the "president of the league" who never gave us his name, and told us we weren't allowed to stand on the opposite sideline from the parents for "safety reasons." With no refs at that age level, we had been doing this for at least the last two seasons to keep the ball from rolling onto the adjacent field, call who's ball it is when out of bounds, and keep the game going. He didn't want to hear about that logic, nor did he care. He walked away, we stayed where we were and kept doing what we were doing. After the game, on the way to the car, I saw him again near the concession stand and decided to revisit the conversation. Right away, he was extremely confrontational, interruptive, and before I got myself into some real trouble, I walked away, but not before he said "I don't have to take anything from you", to which I responded, "we don't have to pay money to play here anymore", and with a smile on his face, he said, "we don't need you, go play in Plano." (exact quote) And again, this was near the concession stand where many others were walking by, so this was not a private conversation, which did not bother him at all. I laughed and just walked away.

The parents on the team agree that this was very likely our last season with LHSA and this incident certainly made the decision easy. Being nice to people isn't difficult, but can make a huge difference.

This is really sad for the kids. LHSA claims it's all about the kids having fun, but their actions loudly and clearly prove otherwise.

Best of luck in the future, "president of the league".

Recently experienced two young refs attempt to enforce park rules. They were very unprofessional and used inappropriate measures to delay the game and caused me to miss both of my kids play at the same time. Total disgrace and don't recommend using those two to ref!! One of the refs was having a power trip and suggest you get someone whom wants to do their job correctly! If it weren't for our family friends on the team, I would remove them and never use this organization! This is supposed to be community fun!!

We love our TEAM but it's hard when the league is poorly run and leadership is rude to parents/coaches. We cannot have practice on the playing fields and have experienced on multiple occasions the refs are rude/unsure about game rules. Aside from these issues with LHSA, the fields are on a flood plain so any drop of rain and all games cancelled, and the restrooms have been unusable for going on a year.

We are on a great team but the league admins need a major attitude adjustment.

I just read a review that started with “refs attempt to enforce rules” where the complainant goes on to bash two young men for doing their job. Maybe there is a misunderstanding on her part of what rule enforcement means? Or uneducated regarding what a ref is supposed to do? Posting the picture of the boys was incredibly malicious, inappropriate, and unnecessary. Karma will get you miss chanel!

I registered and paid for my daughter. I was never contacted by anyone for a team she was assigned to, so I called them. They said someone would call me back and 2 days later, a man texted me and asked if my daughter wanted to play for their team at a game that coming weekend?!?…. I called and we spoke and I said that since the season had already started and she didn’t have a uniform, had never practiced with the team, the answer was no. He offered to have her come and practice with them that following Monday, so I said sure. Even though I had paid for a SEASON of soccer, I was told she had only missed a few games and it was a big deal (to them). A few days later, the guy called back and said they had a game scheduled for that Monday night and practice was canceled. I have never heard from anyone else from that association since. I will be demanding a refund, as I paid for a season of soccer with a team and no one there seems to care - I guess bc they got their $$ and they just don’t care past that. I do NOT recommend this association whatsoever.

The fields are located in a flood plain and while the organization isn't responsible for the weather, they should be responsible for respectfully communicating with players and families who have paid their fees. Soccer is not being played, the young refs are not being paid, yet no refunds are being offered. Years and years of not addressing the issues preventing play, we are moving on.

All games get cancel all the time. Two drops of rain and the all games are cancelled. The day is sunny today, there were a few showers this morning, but the day looks great now for a game. I have to say to my 6 years old son that his game is cancelled, this is very frustrating and inconvenient. We need a new soccer association in Lake Highlands that really cares about the kids soccer practice and development.
