Great place to send my husband when he has friends coming from out of town. Get some fresh air and walk-in sessions are available. This golf course is located along harbor boulevard.

I played on the Los Lagos course. Usually there are quite many people and slow during the weekends. Fairways are long and greens are fast. Since each hole is right next to each other, you should alway watch out the balls.

Our tee time was behind by 10 minutes, no biggie, but groups are not spaced appropriately. The pace of play (3 hours front 9) should be improved by at the least, not allowing fivesomes on the golf course. 5 hours and 20 minutes on a Friday with a 9:32 tee time should never happen. Too bad, because for SoCal, it is a nice muni but I'll look elsewhere from now on.

Just had to share my experience at Costa Mesa Country Club - what a find! If you're in Orange County and looking for great golf without breaking the bank, this place is it.

So, there are two courses here: Los Lagos and Mesa Linda. Los Lagos is no joke. It's longer and really tests your game. The fairways are pristine, the bunkers will keep you on your toes, and those greens? Smooth as butter. It feels like you're playing a fancy private club, but without the hefty price tag.

Now, if you're not looking to get your butt kicked (or if you're bringing along some newbie friends), Mesa Linda is your go-to. It's shorter, but don't think it's a cakewalk. It's got enough challenge to keep things interesting for the low-handicappers, but it's forgiving enough that beginners won't be fishing for balls in the woods all day.

What really blew me away was the value. Seriously, the quality of golf you get here for the price is insane. I've played at places that charge double and don't come close to this level.

Oh, and I've got to give a shoutout to Sean Collins, the head pro and GM. This guy is the real deal. Not only does he know his stuff when it comes to golf, but he's just a genuinely nice dude. Always ready with a tip to fix that slice or a friendly chat about your round. He's got the pro shop stocked with all the good stuff, and you can tell he really cares about making sure everyone has a great time. Plus, the guy plays in a band on Friday nights and kicks ass.

Bottom line: if you're anywhere near Costa Mesa, do yourself a favor and book a tee time here. Whether you're a scratch golfer or just trying to break 100, you're gonna love it. Trust me, once you play here, you'll come back.

I think the course (Los Lagos) is in great shape for the amount of play it gets. However both courses are ridiculously slow. 3+ hours for 9 holes yesterday. Please drop some tee times off the sheet, NO fivesomes and have the Marshall's keep the pace.
