Really nice place overall in a great location, having not stayed in a YHA or any hostel before. I therefore wasn't sure what to expect and my expectations were low.|Stayed here for one night having wanted to cheaply extend our holiday. A brisk walk down to the hostel and love how it is literally right on the beach. An old mill previously, it had great character and charm.|We stayed in a separate building called the crows nest. Everything very basic and therefore beds were too. Didn't sleep great as the doors in the corridor outside the rooms squeaked or slammed. They ideally need to oil a few of them and get some soft close hinges on the fire doors. In addition the bed mattresses are very hard with no ventilation within the rooms. As 5 of us were in one room, even with the window open it was like being in the Caribbean. Therefore a restless nights sleep for adults at the least.|The restaurant was great, good value and decent quality. Other facilities were also clean, tidy and well presented. Breakfast was really good also.|Staff very friendly and welcoming. Overall we left with a decent opinion of YHA. A value option for our future travel plans albeit a very basic one.

Brilliant, stunning hostel, with great facilities, super friendly and helpful staff. I've stayed here before but, this time, I had a room in the Crow's nest. Great new building with small kitchen (kettle, sink, fridge, cutlery and plates). My room was for 3 but I travelled alone, so it was very spacious and with an en suite!! Great value for money. |And of course, the location is superb! Right by the beach, a short walk to Robin Hood's bay by beach or up the coastal path. Stunning views and lots of fossils too!

The atmosphere in the main house is great. The food is good, if a little pricey. The large shared bedrooms are very clean and well kept.

The only downside, not the fault of the establishment, was the stampeding around the dormitory at 6 in the blessed AM.

Boggle Hole hostel is a great place to stay. It’s situated in a secluded beach. It take a few minutes to walk down a steep road to get there (and walk back up again), which may be an issue for some but also filters out a massive crowd.||The room (in the crow’s nest part) was modern and clean. Nothing fancy but decent enough.||Tonnes of activities that can keep children busy like finding fish and ghosts around the building. And for everyone short hikes to neighbouring villages like Robin Hood’s Bay, either along the seashore when the tide is out or on a spectacular cliff walk when the tide is high.||Recommended for a few nights, don’t waste time on arriving late in evening and checking out the next morning.

After walking round a busy RHB and then up the Cleveland way coastal path, we stumbled across the Boggle Hole YHA cafe. Lovely quiet quaint setting. Nice selection of cakes and snacks. Just had a cold drink and coffee. Perfect for having a sit down and bit of a breather on a hot day, before heading off on another adventure.

I recently stayed at this place with a friend and three kids, and we all had different impressions, but I personally loved it. The rooms in the new building are excellent, offering a restful environment. Our room was spacious and clean, with five comfortable beds, perfectly suited for our needs. There’s a convenient kitchenette with a fridge where you can store your food, and we appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, and milk.Waking up to the sound of sheep in the morning was a charming experience, and the fresh air is invigorating. One of the best things about this place is its location—if you're coming from a long journey, it’s the perfect spot to leave your belongings and enjoy a scenic walk to Robin Hood’s Bay. The views along the path are stunning, and it’s an easy walk back. The food here is amazing—delicious and reasonably priced. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Although there isn’t a beach for lounging, it’s great for a walk and exploring crabs along the shore. Parking is a bit of a walk from the accommodation, but I didn’t mind at all. There’s also Wi-Fi available, which was a nice bonus. Overall, it’s a wonderful place to stay that offers great value for money. If you found this review helpful, I’d appreciate a like!

An amazing find! The hostel is in a great location, right on the sea front, with a stream along side, for the children to play in.

The staff couldn't do enough to help and were so friendly, always seeing if things were OK or if we'd had a good day.

The food was absolutely delicious (we ate breakfast in-house and self catered in the evening). The self catering kitchen was small but well equipped and fine for the number of people who were using it during our stay.

They have a great cafe/bar too with a super selection of cakes!

The atmosphere was fabulous, with great attention given to the overall look of the place - very sea themed - and lots of little extras for to children including fossil books to browse (in case you find some on the beach) , games to play and trail hunts to be competed around the yha/grounds.

I would highly recommend staying here!

The only thing that is a drawback is that there's no way of getting your car near to the hostel - it's about a quarter-mile walk from the car park - so pack lightly as you've got to carry everything you need down a hill to the YHA, and then back uphill at the end of your stay!

One of my favourite places to stay in the UK. I have been back multiple times
The location….is AMAZING! No where else can compete. Lovely walk in to robin hoods bay on your left, and can access the costal path to ravenscar on your right.

The cafe is lovely too.
